Valentine's Day Craft Frame Insert

Hi everyone, it's Josefine, and I'm super happy to be guest designing for Deflecto again. February's topic is Valentine's Day, and I created a very pink insert for the Craft Frame in pink.

I started by preparing my mixed media paper with white Gesso. I was messy on purpose to create the first layer of texture. My idea was to have color spreading away from a heart shape in the middle of the paper. So I outlined the heart shape that I cut out later. I added more texture using different types of tape. Then I added a few color sprays and acrylic paints and spread them in all directions.

When I was done, I let it dry overnight. The next day I cut out the heart and aligned some negatives behind the heart. I found those in an Antique shop. They are all images from Rome, one of my favorite cities. I also added a little more dimension to the image by water coloring with a black Faber Castell Gelato around the border of the heart.

After I was done, I put the insert into the pink Craft Frame. Because the negatives are perfect to add some light to it, I put a candle behind the frame. You could also use a string light or one of these flickering LED lights. You can also see my process in this video:

Organize Your Kids Bathroom

Hello, everyone! Nadine her today and one thing my house is really lacking in drawers in the bathroom cabinets. So things like toothbrushes, tooth paste, hair brushes and things are always all over my daughter's bathroom counter.  So I decorated a Deflecto X-Divider Stackable Organizer to match the theme she already has in her bathroom by using a stencil with little fish, but you could use any stencil you like. It works perfectly for her to quickly place her items in after use so they are no longer cluttering up the counter.

Sue and Nick's Craft Caddy Challenge

The challenge was to see who could fill their craft caddy the fastest.

Each day, at the "Creativation Trade Show" last January, Deflecto held the very popular Craft Caddy Challenge. All though lots of fun, at times, it became quite competitive. 

I was talking about the challenge to my grandson the other day and we decided to have our own 

Craft Caddy Challenge. (I needed to race someone my own speed.)

Nick enjoyed the caddy challenge so much that when my nieces came over to swim later, he challenged them. He was a lot faster by then. (he won by a mile)

Thanksgiving Table Seating Name Cards

Hello! Nadine here today with some Thanksgiving table seating name cards that I created using Deflecto's 1 ½" x 2" Mini Slanted Sign Holders. 

I used a leaf embossing folder on some cardstock and then colored them with some spray inks and some ink.  Then wrapped some twine around them and added some letter stickers for the names.

These little seating cards went perfectly with the table setting I created using the Event Kit that Create and Craft are featuring on November 28th!

Breast Cancer Awareness Event Sign

Hello! Nadine from My Scrap n' Stuff here today and as many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and events are happening everywhere in benefiting the fight against breast cancer. Deflecto has an 8 ½" x 11" Pink Border Craft Frame that is perfect for these events. An Easy DIY Teacher Gift

Wafer Thin Die Storage

Need an easy way to store you wafer thin dies, check out Erin's method using the flexible pouches and the magnetic sheets to store her dies in a memory book.

I used a couple of different methods to store the dies, but the main idea is to use a thick cardstock with a Deflecto magnetic sheet glued to it with Beacon Power Tac glue and slip these magnetic sheets into a plastic Deflecto pouch (or when I ran out a plastic wrapper the dies came in) and then place the pouches in a Heidi Swapp Memory book I had laying around.

Now I can find my dies very easily so I will use them more and also store them on a shelf and they look pretty and not just a giant mess!!

I can even store my stamps and dies that work together in one pouch!!!  Double win!!

Easy DIY Personalized Luggage Tags

Hello, Nadine here!
Have you ever got off an airplane and then gone to the luggage pick-up area and then can't figure out which luggage is yours since so many of them all look alike? Me too! 

So I decided to make some fun luggage tags that can be personalized to your own style using Deflectos Flexible Pouches and Pear Clips.

DIY Bag Tags

I thought it would be fun for my kids to have tags for their bags when we travel and also for school, so I made some bag tags, but I had to do them up mixed media style.

Here is a detailed video on how I made these fun tags for my kids.

I used the first name initial of each of the kids names for the large letter on the tag help identify which was which, and then picked their favorite color for the papers, ribbons, and embellishments.  I placed them all in the Deflecto plastic pouch with the pear clip to attach to the bag.

Patriotic Photo Transfer Frame

Looking for an idea on what to do with your pictures from the 4th of July? How about making a photo transfer frame using a printout of a flag and Deflecto's beveled edge 5x7 frame?

I love these beveled edge 5x7 frames! They are so easy to change out the picture, and they look like real glass!

Elegant Altered Frame

We are going on a vacation to my in-law's house to help celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary, and we have a big family reunion and party to celebrate - shhh shhh it is a surprise!!  For the party, I wanted to put out a picture from their wedding day, but I could not just leave it as a plain frame, I had to decorate it!

Here is a video tutorial on how I made the frame including using the washi tape to make the background.

I used the Deflecto 5"x7" Beveled Edge Frame so to help keep the elegance of the moment, a perfect frame for a party display!

Here are some up close pictures of the frame.

Sometimes adding a few pearls and flowers just add that perfect touch to make an amazing gift!!
