"Create" Homemade Sticky Note Holder

I am always hunting for sticky notes on my desk, they seem to vanish from me, or it could be that my kids steal them, lol.  I also seem to be hunting for pens on my desk, maybe I have too much stuff on my desk, haha!!  With this in mind, I made a sticky note holder for my desk, with a pen attached so I will have both when I need them!!  When I was thinking this through I thought just to buy some new sticky notes and glue them to the front, but then I went to get some nice looking ones they were so expensive!!  Then I thought I have tons of paper, I'm sure I can figure out a way to make them myself, so I did!!

For full details, please view my video tutorial about how to make homemade sticky notes and how to make this project!!

I used the Deflecto 4"x6" Acrylic frame as the base, so it would stand up nicely on my desk.  It is super light weight and can work with any number of projects or pictures you want!!

Love The New Curved Craft Frame!

While I was at CHA, I did a Make n' Take at Eileen Hulls booth, and I used the new 6" x 4" Curved Craft Frame #680101CR as my base. I love that you can just pop this frame apart and put it back together. See the little silver things in the corners?? MAGNETS - for real. Easiest frame in history!

I used dies from Little B for this project, and they are so cute! The flowers, the leaves, the arrows - all from Little B. Thanks to Therm O Web for providing the amazing Sticky Dots for this project. They make it so easy to adhere die cuts like these!

Put on a Tea Party with Deflecto Storage and Frames!

Who doesn't love a tea party? I have created a tea caddy, a table setting caddy and tea menu using Deflecto's storage cubes and frame. Read on and I will show you how I made them!

First up is the tea caddy.  I started out with a four drawer storage cube and decoupaged it with vintage tissue paper and paper flowers that I made.

You will need these supplies to get started:

Deflecto Stackable Cube Organizer 4 Drawer #350301CR
Deflecto Stackable Cube Organizer "X" Divider #350301CR
Deflecto Clear 4 x 6 Craft Frame #59750CR
Tissue paper with a pretty pattern
Cardstock to make the flowers
Dimensional Adhesive dots
Paper punches or die cuts:  Circles: 1-3/4". 1-1/2" & 1"
Royale Coat decoupage medium
Dimensional Magic (for flowers)
1" flat paint brush or sponge brush
Scissors
Paper plates, paper towels, water bucket

1.  Get started by taking a sheet of your chosen tissue paper and wadding it up into a ball.  Smooth it back out into a flat sheet, but leave in the wrinkles!  Cut a 6" wide piece of tissue, x the full length of the sheet. Apply decoupage medium to one side of the cube and press one end of the tissue paper into the wet medium. Make sure to line up all of the edges.  Repeat around the entire Cube.  Cut extra and repeat the process if you need to.  Gently smooth the paper with your hands.  Allow to dry and then apply a top coat of the decoupage medium.  Allow to dry thoroughly.

Make the flowers or other embellishments you may be using.  I punched out the circles from the various colored cardstock.  Everything shown was cut from the circles, layered and adhered using the dimensional adhesive tabs.

I created the menu on the computer and embellished the frame with the flowers.  Each is attached with a dimensional adhesive.
The X-Divider Cube has the tissue paper decoupaged to it as for the 4-drawer cube.  After it is dry; attach the embellishment to the top corner as shown. There are now four divided areas to place napkins, table service, stirrers, straws, etc.

The teapot shown in the vignette below is one I made in a ceramics class years ago.  It 's hard to find a shop where it is possible to purchase greenware and craft your own ceramic pieces these days.

I hope you got some inspiration here today and will try decorating some storage cubes and frames. There are many patterns in tissue paper these days, and your imagination is the only limit.

Getting Organized In Deflecto style!!!

Hello, Alicia here today sharing some amazing product by Deflecto.

For my first project, I used the Deflecto 4 x 6 Craft Frame to have a sassy stand to keep all my "To Do" things in order for the week.

For my second project, I used the Stackable Cube Organizer "X" Divider to organize all my clear stamps. But first I wanted to make it pretty by adding some acrylic paint to the side of the cube, just to add a soft touch to it. Then I added my initial to give it some bling.

Stackable Cat Cube

When you have three cats as we do, the cat "stuff" can get out of hand. Medications, treats, combs, toys -- usually all of these things are just piled up in a basket making it hard to find what you need. So I decided to get my babies' accessories organized with Deflecto!

I started with the Deflecto Stackable 4-Drawer Cube Organizer. I then covered the top and sides with patterned paper, finishing the corners with washi tape. Since the cube organizers are stackable and can be interlocked, I can always add more cubes later as my cats add toys to their arsenal.

I added some dimensional cat-themed stickers to the top and sides as well. Using JOY embroidered letters, I personalized the caddy with the word "Meow". Now my cats can tell it's for them. :)

For the finishing touch, I used cat buttons on each of the drawers. These buttons originally had shanks on the back; I cut the shanks off with a button shank remover and then attached the buttons to the drawers with glue dots.

Now I can find everything I need for my kitties without a fuss!

Buttons and Bows Frame

Deflecto’s Black Bordered Craft Frame, 5" x 7", is the perfect base for embellishment. I pulled together my stash of buttons and the hot glue gun to add a perfect pop of color for this sweet picture of my ancestors. It sits in my entry as a reminder of the love that it took for me to be here today.

This project is a quick and fun one. I found a fun new glue stick at CHA, so I really wanted an excuse to use my glue gun. ;)

Let’s get crafting!

You will need:

Craft Frame 5"x7" - Black Item Number: 69575CR
3/8 Inch – GROSGRAIN/IVORY STRIPES – RED/IVORY
Buttons
Hot Glue gun
Glue sticks or my new favorite Glue ROLL, a 5-foot long glue stick by SureBonder.
Scissors
Hair dryer (for the final trick!)

Here’s what you do

Glue buttons to frame. Be sure to vary the sizes and spacing to fill the space, the black backdrop on the frame will pop the button color.

Wrap ribbon around the frame and tie the bow.

Here is the final fun trick!! Use your hair dryer to blow away any glue guns strings for the perfect finish.

See How Easy the Interlocking Stackable Storage Cubes Are To Use

Hello, Deflecto friends! Nadine here today sharing with you some Deflecto storage products that I love. With the new year, I have set a goal to get organized, and no other room in my house needs organization as much as my craft room does. Luckily, Deflecto Crafts has the best solutions for all of my craft storage needs!!

I made this short video showing just how easy the Interlocking Stackable Cube Organizers are to use. You can connect as many as you like together using either the Stackable Cube Organizer"X" DividerStackable Cube Organizer OpenStackable Cube Organizer2 Drawer or the Stackable Cube Organizer4 Drawer. Mix and match them any way that you like!

When crafting I seem to always need something to write on, and my Post-It notes are always lost somewhere so I used a VersaGrip™ Double-Clip Sign Holder to attach my Post-Its to the side of one of the cubes so now I can find it and pull a sheet off whenever I need it.

Here is my video:

"Love of Crafting" Desk Organizer Box

I'm all about organizing this month - how about you?!?
I was in great need of storage for my crafty supplies and tools on my desk.  Up to this point, I have been using cups, jars, tins, and vases to store my various supplies.  They are all too small, too wide, too tall, not sturdy enough, and are all taking up way too much space.  Plus, I did not do anything to make them "me".
But now I have the perfect organizer on my desk, thanks to Deflecto's Stackable Cube "X" Divider Organizers. Each cube has four separate storage units, and I attached two together, so I now have eight storage slots. I also altered them, so they are more "me" and I now have something pretty to look at on my desk!!

Here is a video showing how I made this super cute little desk organizer for my scrap table!

Here are some up close shots of the organizer with and without supplies in them.  The bonus to this unit is if I get bored with the designs of the papers I used, I can just pull them off and redo it and make a brand new look for myself!  I could even make different looks for each season; Valentine's is already done now!!

Deflecto Cube Storage for Parties and Events

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  It is now well into January and February is just around the corner.  There is a reason to celebrate almost every month of the year, and Deflecto has just the products for you to put on a successful event!  The cube storage that I am featuring on the blog today can be used for craft storage or a party/event table!  I am showing some ideas for the party table.  There so many looks you can achieve.

For the bin pictured above you will need the following supplies:

washi tape to match your project
jute string
button embellishments
adhesives
stamped sentiment (optional)
12" x 12" cardstock sheet (your choice of colors and print)

What do I need to decorate the cubes for a party or event?

1.  For each cube, you will need to cut a 12 x 12" cardstock sheet into four 6" squares.  Trim any excess and fit around all sides except for the bottom.

2.  Adhere the squares together at the seams using Washi tape.

3.  Embellish the outside of each drawer.  I layered scalloped circles and glued on a button to finish.

4.  Inside of drawers.  Cut a strip of paper to fit the bottom of one drawer.  Insert.  Repeat for the remaining drawers.

5.  Fill the drawers with candy or other little goodies.  Bubblegum balls in theme colors look cute in the drawers.

What will you celebrate next?  A wedding?  A Holiday?  Birthday or other social events?  Be sure to check out the latest products by Deflecto!  Products used can be purchased at Amazon.com, or you can click HERE and enter your zip code to see where you can purchase Deflecto Craft products near you.

Hope you have been inspired to use Deflecto for your next happy event!  Thanks for stopping by!

When Creativity Knocks

Our Stackable Caddy Organizer was featured in the When Creativity Knocks CHA Hot Products Round Up Video.

Get your calendar organized!!!

Hello, and welcome to the new year! Now that all the family and friend gatherings are over it is time to get organized and Deflecto Crafts has the perfect solution.

To start my organization process off, I created this all year around calendar using the Craft Frame 12 x12 by Deflecto. This calendar was so simple to make; I use a circle punch for the dates and for the background I used a piece of 12 x 12 pattern cardstock. I then hand wrote the dates and month and used a removable adhesive, so I could move the numbers around thru the year.

I used the VersaGrip™ Double-Clip Sign Holder to added a pencil to the side along with some Kraft ribbon and red mesh.

Cupcake Stand or Craft Supply Storage?

Hello, Sue Eldred here and I want to share one of my favorite NEW Deflecto products is this 3 tier Dessert Stand.

The stand features adjustable heights and an easy knock down compact design for storage.
It is perfect for holding cupcakes and even comes with little holes to insert cake pops.  (Pretty Clever.)

The 3-Tier Desert Stand will be available January 2016 through local art, craft
and educational stores.

Because I don’t make a lot of cupcakes, I decided to use mine for storage instead.

This is what I used to personalize the stand:
  1. Trace each of the tiers onto the back of the kraft paper.
  2. Loosely cut around each circle.
  3. Liberally apply the glue stick to the back of the paper around and inside the circle.
  4. Lay tier onto the glued circle and trim excess paper with a craft knife.
  5. Smooth paper onto tier.
  6. Cut out the center channels of the tiers with a craft knife.
Apply washi tape around the outside lip.

Assemble stand and fill craft supplies.  (or maybe even your favorite cupcakes)
