Quick and Easy Cardmaking

Make quick and easy cards using scrapbooking paper packs.

There are so many fantastic paper collections available with coordinating patterns that help you take the guesswork out of matching designs.

Project Designed by Lorrie McCullers

To make a quick and easy card:
  • Choose a theme using a fun paper collection
  • Start with a plain white card as your base
  • Cut a decorative strip of paper for the top section of the card (approx. 1/4" shorter than the width of the card base). Adhere the decorative strip onto the white card with a double-stick tape runner.
  • Cut a second coordinating piece of paper and adhere to the lower section of the card.
  • Cut the third pattern as a border strip to adhere to the front of the card.
  • Next, cut a small piece of decorative paper to fill in the gap between the top and bottom pieces.
  • To finish up the card, punch a 2" circle from a fourth coordinating pattern from the paper collection. Add an adhesive foam dot to the back of the circle for added dimension.
You've created a quick and easy card that can be sent to anyone for all occasions

Coloring Fun for Everyone

Looking for an activity that everyone can enjoy? Something easy and fun that doesn't create a lot of mess? Design team member, Erin Reed, shows us a craft that she likes to do with her family.

Coloring on Acrylic with Permanent or Alcohol Based Markers.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Blank or Preprinted Acrylic Shapes
  • Colored Permanent Markers or Alcohol Based Markers
  • Container to hold Markers (we recommend the Interlocking Storage Organizer)
Directions:
  1. If using blank acrylic shapes, draw a picture or design on the acrylic using a black permanent marker.
  2. Color in the designs with the markers. The markers dry quickly to eliminate mess.
  3. Get the family involved to color along!

When not working on individual projects with her family, Erin stores her markers in the Stackable Cube Organizer. Can we talk about marker envy?

Handy Quilt Storage

Design team member, Anita Scroggins is a quilter. When she's working on a quilt project, Anita likes to keep her supplies for each project in a Stackable Caddy Organizer. The caddy makes it easy to keep everything in one place and organized while sewing.

Anita used two large caddy containers to customize her Stackable Caddy Organizer. One for holding fabric, and the other for pinking shears and other tools. She can fit 10 one-yard pieces in the container.

The caddy storage tray fits into the second large caddy containerIt's perfect for holding pins, extra threads, clips, and other supplies used while quilting.

Organize your Craft Cabinet with Deflecto

Organize with Deflecto Storage Solutions

If you're lucky, a designated craft cabinet with closed doors can be awesome.
That means you've graduated from your kitchen table. One potential problem: with closed cabinet doors, even the neatest and the tidiest person might be tempted to stash and run when it's time to clean up in a hurry. Those well-meaning craft cabinets can easily be ignored and get out of control without the right organization.

(the Prismacolor pencils are in a medium stackable caddy container)

Organizing doesn't have to be tedious and overwhelming if you take it one space at a time.

Once you've cleared out the cabinet, you'll need to find the best storage that works for you. Deflecto has several great storage options to fit your needs.

Organization Tip...Labeling the bins is a great way to ensure supplies go back where they belong. They not only look good, but it also helps when looking for supplies.

The bins are easy to take with you when you need to work. They keep your workspace clutter-free and your supplies close at hand.
