Luggage Tags For The Newlyweds!

The bride and groom are off on their honeymoon! Whether they travel by car, bus, train or plane; they might get some special service by sporting these fun tags on their luggage!

Here is what you will need:

Deflecto 3"x 5" flexible pouch #20019CR (one each); pear clip #20012CR

JOY 1" high embroidered letters by the sheet: pink and black

scrapbook papers: black and white stripe

cardstock: black, teal, white

glitter tape: 1/2" wide gold

paper flowers: 3/4" teal; 1/4" dark pink

ribbon scraps: white sheer, teal satin, white satin, teal polyester

adhesives

scissors

paper trimmer

Instructions:

1. Cut the striped paper to fit in the pouch. Cut, layer and adhere the other papers to the striped paper as shown. Place inside the pouch.

2. Adhere the letters to the outside of the pouch using a strong glue meant to hold on plastic. I used a dimensional medium. Allow to dry.

3. Embellish with flowers and glitter tape. Ribbons: Cut and fold the ribbons in the middle. Push the middle of the ribbons through the hole in the pouch; make a loop. Pull the ribbon tails through the loop and close the loop. Trim the ribbon tails at an angle.

4. Finish: Open the pear clip and attach it to the pouch through the same hole as the ribbons. Close the clip. Ready for the honeymoon!

No More Losing Your Die Cuts On Your Craft Table

My craft desk can get pretty messy when I am putting a project together. It seems more times than not, my die cuts end up buried under some craft supplies. So what is the saying?... "Necessity is the mother of invention?"

Using an 8" x 10" Clear Craft Frame, I trimmed a Craft Magnetic Sheet and glued it onto the frame.
I then decorated it with matching washi tape, added a few flowers and it was ready to go.

Now when I am putting my projects together, I can have my die cuts securely placed on this magnetic frame, and they will be easy to find when I need them.

Table Top Easel Picture Frame

Today I have a fun project to share using Deflecto Wet-Erase Sign Easel.  These handy little things come in a three pack, and you can use the chalk markers shown here to make quick changes for everyday use.

I wanted something a little more permanent, so I started by using a white paint pen to draw an uber cute border all the way around the chalkboard. I matted my photo and then added some foam tape for some dimension.

To make the flowers I used some of the new dies I FINALLY tracked down from Eileen Hull for Sizzix. I used a vintage sewing pattern and added a resin center to the smaller flower.

The title of this piece was probably the easiest thing I have ever come up with. This child has the bluest eyes - they are amazing! To make the banner I cut and folded a piece of patterned paper and adhered to the bottom of the easel. Some alpha stickers and a Maya Road wood embellishment finish it off.

STACKABLE CADDY FOR BAKING SUPPLIES

STACKABLE CADDY FOR BAKING SUPPLIES
by Aimee Broussard

If we are going to be best friends, I need you to know how crazy I am when it comes to being organized. I thrive on organization. You know how some people can still function properly if a room is disheveled? I’m not one of those people. In fact, on most days, I’m behind schedule because I can’t begin the day’s project until everything is in its place and my project is completely laid out….and organized.

If I were to come to your non-organized home, I would not hold your lack of organization against you but I would likely offer to help organize you. For fun.

I think my love for organization might’ve began in junior high. When I first laid my eyes on a label maker. Aaaahhhh…..the ability to put labels on things.

I am equally as crazy as about baking, too. If you’ve been around my blog for any amount of time you know that I love being in the kitchen, and I love whipping up something delicious to share with family and friends. I’m addicted to purchasing baking supplies, too. Sprinkles are my weakness even though I rarely use them in recipes. Cookie cutters are my demise even though I’m no expert cookie maker.

What I’m sad to admit, however, is that my organization of said baking supplies was quite embarrassing for someone who claims to love tidyness. I blame the small size of piping tips! And can those little bottle of gel coloring be any more annoying? My current method of organization was to stash everything in a deep drawer in the kitchen.

Madness every single time I got ready to work on some decorated cookies. Find the cutter. Purchase gel coloring I already had but didn’t know I had because it was lost in the deep dark drawer. Locate the piping tip for royal icing. Dig out the piping bags.

You get the idea.

Imagine my sheer delight when I signed as one of the new Deflecto Brand Ambassadors. Deflecto is a company that has been around for more than 50 years serving the Art, Craft and Education market as well as the office products industry. You can purchase their products at Michaels.com and Scrapbook.com, as well as Amazon in the coming months.

The Stackable Caddy Organizer changed my life. Well, at least, my baking life that is.

No more digging anything out of the drawer dungeon. I simply organize all my supplies in each of the clear, REMOVABLE compartments, lock them in, and then stack as many caddies as I need to one another. When I’m ready to decorate, I simply grab the caddy by the handle and carry it to my workspace.

Pull out the container that I’m utilizing that day and decorate as usual.

No more buying duplicate gel coloring because now I quickly inventory (because I can see the darn things!) before heading to the store.

And let’s just say you invite me over to bake & decorate cookies. I can quickly grab my caddy and come on over with everything I might need to create some cutely decorated cookies. Traveling with your baking supplies? YES, please.

Each month I’ll be highlighting one of the Deflecto craft organization solutions and my organization loving heart is oh, so excited.

A Clever and Creative Way to Remember Birthdays

I come from a large and an always expanding close-knit family. With all that family, there’s a lot of birthdays to remember. As a solution, I decided to make a small desktop monthly reminder.

I started with these cute little Heirloom Calendar Months from 7gypsies that come on one 12″ x 12″ sheet of paper. You can cut them up and add them to your journals, fold them to make a mini calendar or birthday book or cut the month artwork to make your own daily or monthly journal. Each month features a little piece of art, and you can color them to match your style and journal theme.

The base for my Birthday Reminder is a 4″ x 6″ clear craft frame.

I drilled two holes in the top of the craft frame to hold the antique silver binder rings and gather everything together.

With school just around the corner, I like to have all my art supplies in one place. The Stackable Caddy is a great solution.

This Caddy works perfectly for my Art supplies! I can transport it with ease. There are three separate compartments, which can be removed to make it easy to grab what I need.

Wafer Thin Die Storage

Need an easy way to store you wafer thin dies, check out Erin's method using the flexible pouches and the magnetic sheets to store her dies in a memory book.

I used a couple of different methods to store the dies, but the main idea is to use a thick cardstock with a Deflecto magnetic sheet glued to it with Beacon Power Tac glue and slip these magnetic sheets into a plastic Deflecto pouch (or when I ran out a plastic wrapper the dies came in) and then place the pouches in a Heidi Swapp Memory book I had laying around.

Check out my full video tutorial on how I made this DIY Wafter Thin Die Storage below!

Now I can find my dies very easily so I will use them more and also store them on a shelf and they look pretty and not just a giant mess!!

I can even store my stamps and dies that work together in one pouch!!!  Double win!!

Now it is your turn, what are you going to organize today?!?!

Supplies Used
Book - Heidi Swapp
Flexible Pouches
Magnetic Craft Sheets
Various Dies - Spellbinders, Die-Namites, Craftwell, Heartfelt Creations, MFT, etc
Various Papers - Robin's Nest, Websters, etc
Glue - Beacon
