I’m not one that’s easily impressed…

I’ve been told I’m a hard sell.

Let me tell you, these new storage containers from Deflecto has really impressed me.

So much that I made a quick 2 minute video to show the benefits and features.

Well thought out and versatile.  My new go to caddy to take to classes.

Craft Tilt Bin Wall Storage

This month I was very happy to receive in my box from Deflecto Crafts two more sets of the Tilt Out Bins. I received one each of the Craft Tilt Bin 5 Drawer and Craft Tilt Bin 6 Drawer. (There are two sets of each shown here, for a total of 4 sets.) I have long loved these storage bins and have used the for my Prima Breeding Program (see my blog post here for more on that) I have recently acquired a good deal of paint and mixed media supplies. I was looking for a way to store them. I wanted them to be visible, and easily accessible, and close to hand when I wanted to work with them. Quite a tall order. By removing several of the actual bins from the units, I was able to get all of that and more.

I attached the 5 bin units to the wall using screws. Because the units are interlocking, I was able to attach the more shallow 6 bin unit underneath. This allowed me to have a deeper "shelf" on the top for more storage! One of us is clever - I'm not sure it is me or the folks at Deflecto. Maybe both???

I utilized one of my Interlocking Storage Organizers to hold my paintbrushes and other tools. It fits perfectly right on top of the bin, next to my little Flamingo Garden.  Deflecto products are available through local art, craft, and educational stores, in addition to online retailers such as Amazon.com, Scrapbooking.com, and Scrapbooking Made Simple. Double Stacked Rotating Organizer w/video Tutorial

I am in organizing mode, and today I am tackling some textures and trims I got a couple of years ago at a CKC convention that has been tucked away in a drawer and forgot about. They are starting to fray and get messy, so time to get to work!!  The 9 bin Carousel Rotating Organizer worked perfect and it also comes as a 6 bin.

Here is a detailed video on how I organized it all!!

Some up close shots.

This is the organizer I used, just stacked two high.

This is where I keep my organizer for easy access!!

Shabby Chic Pencil Holder

I am a sucker for office and storage supplies. I get positively giddy when I go into an office supply store. But sometimes, the supplies are just a little plain for my tastes. So I like to take those supplies and turn them into something that I can take pride in and place on a desk. Today's project is just that -- I took a pencil holder and turned it into a pretty shabby chic piece!

I started with Deflecto's pink pencil cup with photo frames. Now just this holder by itself is adorable because, hey, it's pink!

But I wanted to fancy it up a bit, so I decorated the outside of the cup using beautiful organza rose ribbon from Maya Road.

I then went to work on the inside of the pencil holder, attaching some vintage-print ribbon, a vintage button, and an iron-on letter from JOY embroidered letters (I just used a hot glue gun to attach the letter rather than iron it on). I wanted a vintage feel for the photos in the frames too so I used paper from 7Gypsies and Salvage Stickers: Lost and Found from Tim Holtz. As Tim calls them, "found relatives"!

This would make an awesome gift for mom or grandmother for Mother's Day. But shhh... don't tell my mom!

Finish the storage organizer with a pretty bow and a chipboard adhesion such as the daisy shown here.  Use for storing all kinds of small craft supplies.  This organizer is available in different sizes.

Bling for Spring! Decorate a Deflecto Pencil Holder!

Spring has sprung! Out comes the sun, colorful flowers, everything green and some bling!
You will need:

roll of faux rhinestone trim
adhesive backed faux rhinestone trim
die-cut black flourish
glue (I used "Tack- it over and over".... for permanent adhesive choose a strong tacky glue.)
scissors
*optional:
pencils
black acrylic paint
black craft boa; 1" wide
pencil erasers; pink
low melt glue gun
flat paint brush; 1/2" to 3/4"

Instructions:

1.  Cut the faux rhinestone sheet to fit around the outside of each side of the pencil holder.
2.  Lay flat; the wrong side up and lightly apply glue to the cut pieces.  Let dry until tacky.  *Designer note:  I recommend adult supervision if you use the Tack-It glue.  For young crafters; use a regular tacky glue.
3.  Adhere to the outsides of the pencil holder.
4.  Open the pencil holder.

5.  Measure and adhere the self-adhesive faux rhinestone trim around the opening where a picture can go. Apply the sides first; then fit the smaller top and bottom pieces, so the ends don't overlap.

6.  Cut two pieces of the sign tag to fit in the picture openings.  Leave 1/2" extending above the top edges of the holder.  Using the wet erase marker, write pencils on one; write pens on the other.  Write a message on the wet erase sign tag and insert where you would normally put a picture.  You can always put a picture or two in those slots if you like!  Let the ink dry before re-inserting into the slot or handling.

7.  Pencils:  If you decide to decorate some pencils; you will do it as follows:  Paint the pencils with the acrylic paint and allow to dry thoroughly.  Glue a piece of the faux rhinestone sheet around the pencil.  Glue a piece of boa around the top of the pencil.  Place the pink eraser over the regular eraser.

The pencil holder is ready to go!  I love the bling!  I shopped at my local Michaels store for the trims I used on this project.

Remember to let your imagination be your guide!  There are lots of crafty options for decorating these cool pencil holders from Deflecto.  I hope you enjoyed the project and got some inspiration here today!

Remember to enjoy the small blessings along the way and
Live Life with a Flourish!

Organize and Decorate To Inspire

Hi, everyone! It is Monica from Taylormadecards4u. With Spring comes Spring cleaning in my craft room. I go through a major destash and reorganize new as well as old crafty items.
But organizing is only one part of my Spring Cleaning. I like to surround myself with things and decor that inspires me.

If you know my work, then you know I love to make vintage inspired projects. A few months ago, I shared with you this organizer that I decorated to hold my washi tape.

Well, I have added to the collection, using the same theme, Postale. I wanted my bins to look like mail slots. That is what I was going for. Do you think I achieved it?

So now I don't only have a lot of the items right at my fingertips, I have beautiful, organized bins that I can look at every time I work at my craft desk.

Here are the deflecto products I used to organize my ribbons:

Need Help Organizing Your Ribbon? Check Out Our Craft Tilt Bins!

I have been battling with my ribbon storage for a while, pretty much just dumping it in two containers without much organization and it has gotten to be a mess! As soon as I saw the Craft Tilt Bins, I knew I had the answer to organize my ribbon/thread/lace and pretty much anything on a spool.

Here is the complete tutorial on how I organized my mess of ribbon into this neat and organized unit!!

Each color of ribbon has its own bin for easy access to help find the perfect ribbon for my crafty needs!!

In each bin, I stored each ribbon on a punch card I created from the Sign Tag sheets and then laced the ribbon through to help keep it all organized.

The beauty of these Craft Tilt Bins is that they stack and slide onto each other to make one unit!!  I used the 5 and 6 drawer tilt bin, but there are other sizes too.  They even come with hardware to mount it to the wall!

Here are the deflecto products I used to organize my ribbons

Spring Cleaning with Deflecto!!!

Hello, everyone! Today I would like share with two products from Deflecto Crafts. I needed to do some spring cleaning in my craft room since my paints were in bags on the floor in the corner of my room. I used the 5 Drawer Craft Tilt Bin and the 9 bin Carousel Rotating Organizer to help me organize my mess. See below just how I did it!

I used the labels that come with the 5 Drawer Craft Tilt Bin to label what was in each of the bins and to help me remember which bin to put them back in.
