New Sewing Organizer On My Craft Table

Hello everyone!!!  Kymona from Kreative Kymona here today to share how I used Deflecto's Interlocking Single Tilt Bin - 4 Pack on my new sewing table.

Let's Take a Look:

I recently started sewing and I must say I love it. So, you know with a new craft comes a lot of new must have products.

I've collected all of Dritz buttons, grommets, snaps, tools and much more for the bags I've learned to sew. These small pieces were kept in bags and bins that I can't just see. So, what have I done?  Bought more of the same items because I didn't remember what I already had in my stash.

So this amazing Interlocking Single Tilt Bin come in super handy for the dilemma I'm facing.

It sits right on top of my new sewing desk. I'm able to see into each bin and see what I have and what I need for my sewing projects.

Let me share why I love these bins:

1. The front is clear.
2. You can stack them on top of each other or side by side.
3. They are portable.
4. You can mount them on the wall or leave them on a desk.
5. The clear bins can be removed for cleaning.
6. Each bin is 4-3/4" W x 5-1/2" H x 4-7/8" D

My new sewing experience will be easier this year.  All of my important supplies all in one place.

So what do you think? How will you organize your crafting supplies? I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired here today.

Deflecto Makes Me Happy!

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share Deflecto's Interlocking Tilt Bin Storage Organizer. I am using these tilt bins for those little things we crafters need at arm's reach.  These bins are the perfect storage for the small space I have on the top of my crafty desk.  I love that they are clear and I am able to see what is exactly in them.

As you can see in the picture below I have stacked them vertically but you can stack or connect horizontally also. You can also set on a desk like I did or use on a table, mount directly to a wall or hang on mountain bar.

These clear bins tilt out effortlessly and stay open when in use;

and remove for easy cleaning and refilling.

The sizes of these bins are: 4 3/4"W x 5 1/2"H x 4 7/8"D

All these options for storage is exactly what I need to keep me tidy and ready to craft.
I can honestly say Deflecto is helping me keep my craft room so organized and happy.

You can find them here:
Scrapbook.com, and Target Online.

Thank you for stopping by! Till next time,

Rosie

Easy Ribbon and Twine Organization Tutorial

All those ribbon and twine can be difficult to stay organized if your supply is rather large. By using the interlocking tilt bins and adorable labels, you can keep all your ribbon and twine tidy and organized!

Materials
  • Deflecto Interlocking Single Tilt Bins
  • Spellbinders Die Cutting Machine
  • Spellbinders Die Cuts
  • Xyron Creative Station with Repositionable Refill
  • TomBow Dual Tip Pens
  • Colored Paper
Tutorial

Step One

Cut out the labeles using the die cutting machine and die cuts. Use two different sizes to get a layer effect for the label.

Step Two

Adhere to two sizes together using the Xyron Creative Station by turning the smaller size into a sticker.

Step Three

Write on each label using the TomBow pens. I matched each pen with the colored paper.

Step Four

Run the label through the Creative Station again.  Adhere the labels onto the interlocking tilt bins.

Step Five

Fill the tilt bins with supplies.

Step Six

Hang using the wall mounting bar for more storage options!

Now you have an easy way to keep your ribbons and twines tidy and stored beautifully! If you have a lot, you might want to group by color. Each tilt bin should hold a different color. This would make it easy to find the perfect ribbon for each project!!

Organizing the Kids Craft Cabinet

I have this awkward wall cabinet between my kitchen and dining room.

It opens fully on the dining room side and only partially on the kitchen side.

Not completely functional, it doesn’t get used all that much.

It’s been the dumping spot for misc. household and kid crafts for the past two decades.

My very active grandsons always want to make something, do something.

I thought a more organized easily accessed spot would be a good idea.

After a little sorting and purging, it’s nice and neat.

Everything’s labeled.  It’s easy to find everything they’ll need.

Here are the products I used to organize my Kid’s Craft Cabinet:
  • Interlocking 5 Tilt Bin Organizer
  • Interlocking  Tilt Bin Organizers, Six Bin (20603CR)
  • Single Tilt Bins (421103CR)
  • Interlocking Marker Organizer
  • Rotating Carousel Organizer, Nine Canisters (3901CR)*

De-cluttering for the New Year with Deflecto!

Happy New Year!  Wishing us all a wonderful and blessed New Year!  May all your dreams come true for 2018!  Would you like to know my dream for the new year?  It is actually the same one that I have every year!  I dream of having my studio completely cleaned up and organized as well as the rest of my house!

I think fighting clutter is high on the list for most of us.  By the time Christmas is over, I can barely get to my desk in the studio! There are boxes and clutter everywhere!  Since I love to work in this room without the clutter, I have decided to take it in hand and attempt to start fresh for this year.

I am taking some pictures of where I am now, and the great products I have to help me get organized.

This is a picture of a portion of the studio as I walk through the door.  I have actually been sorting through things and eliminated a lot of boxes, but still, have a long way to go.  I will post another blog once I work my way through all of this and show you how it turned out!

In the photo below I am showing a bookshelf that is filled with some of my Deflecto storage.  I have various sizes of tilt out interlocking multi-bin storage organizer that fit together for storing smaller things like flowers, embellishments, hardware, etc. I am going to empty everything and make it more efficient as I have a tendency to put things out of sight without giving it much thought.  Sound familiar?

The tilt-out bins can be removed which allows for 2 different modes of storage.  The tilt bin can be used to hold pens as you can see on the upper shelf to the left.  Right below that is a newer product made especially for holding pens.  These interlock and you can add as many as you like.  They can be stood upright or put on their sides as shown.  These also fit nicely into the new caddy storage that is very popular with crafters and makers.  Here is another view below.  On the top of the shelf are more Deflecto storage products that I have used for various purposes.

The photo below features one of my favorite products from Deflecto.  These are interlocking 4-bin units that can be taken apart and used as a single compartment.  I have added knobs to the front of some of the bins; others I made into a candy bin with knobs decorating the top.  Right now, I have them all interlocked into a unit and I need to organize everything that is in the bins.  I love these!  They are fun and easy to alter if you like to personalize your decor.  You can separate the bins and use them as gifts, personalizing them for the recipient.

The next photo shown is a close-up of my favorite bins.  If you look close at the lower left hand quad, you will see the clear acrylic knobs that I attached to the bins.  I love the way these look!  You can purchase 1 bin at a time, or purchase them in a package of 4.

If you share my pain with clutter, leave me a message if you have any organizing tips that work well for you!

I will be back with an update on my de-clutter!  Leave me a comment if you have any special tips!  My special tip is donate, donate, donate! Lol!

Cheers!

Jazz up your Deflecto storage!

Hello, Marilyn here today! The Interlocking Single Tilt Bins are one of my favorite storage products. I have used them as a single storage bin or assembled as a unit. I have decorated some of them with paint and craft supplies. I added some acrylic knobs for my latest project. I love the way they look, and knobs are easy to find these days!
If you decide to add some knobs to your storage you will need a few things to start:

1. Drill with a drill bit to match the size of the screw on your acrylic knob
2. Nut and washers to tighten the knob to the bin
3. Screwdriver to tighten the screw
4. A thick book or magazine (I used an old phone book) to drill on
5. Permanent marker to mark drill spot
Hope you got some inspiration here today. Make sure you have your plan well mapped out before getting started. You want to take good care of your storage bins!

Make sure to take time to enjoy the small blessings along the way and,

How To Use Deflecto's Interlocking Single Tilt Bin

Hello everyone!! Kymona from Kreative Kymona, here again, to show you how to use Deflecto's Interlocking Single Tilt Bin for additional storage!!

I work in a pretty tight space, and things can get lost really fast!! So, I need my go-to crafty supplies to be in one place.

I used it to keep all of my adhesives in one place.  The clear bin allows you to see right inside, so you know exactly what you have at a quick glance.

Here are some advantages of the Interlocking Single Tilt Bin - 4 Pack:

1. The Interlocking System - vertically or horizontally

The bins are built with grooves so that they slide into a lock position on top and on the side.

2. The Clear Bin

Your able to see right into the bin so that you can see everything inside.

3. The Wide Opening

All of the bins open nice and wide. You can see everything in the bin at one glance. They stay open when in use.

Even with everything that's in the bin already, there is still room for more adhesives.

4. The bins can separate from the base.

Just squeeze the bin and lift it off of the track.

Super convenient to clean and refill.

5. Mount on a wall or hang on a mounting bar.

Each bin can be mounted directly on a wall or hang on a mounting bar.

6. This storage system goes with other storage bins.

I've paired the Interlocking Single Tilt Bin with a Deflecto Stackable Cube Organizer! I store my cutting tools right next to my adhesives.  They just seem to go together.

Sooooo, tell me what you think? Are you still looking for a way to store and organize your go-to crafty supplies? I hope I was able to help you make up your mind.

Please let me know what you think below. If you have any questions, please leave them below as well.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired here today.

Build a Treat Station with Deflecto Stackable Storage!

Storage is fun for the obvious things, right? I decided to up the fun factor by putting together this DIY Candy, Gum and Nut treat station. This is perfect for any party, get together, or as home decor. It will be perfect in my design studio to provide treats for my guests. We always get hungry when we are creating!
You will need:

Deflecto: interlocking stackable storage (4 bins in unit)
Acetate scrapbook paper: I used four different designs of 8-1/2" x 11" papers
Americana Acrylic Paint by DecoArt: Sea Aqua (to match the papers)
Wooden Ball Knobs: two 1-1/4"
Mod Podge: Dimensional Magic by Plaid (for gluing)
Glitter cardstock: 12" x 12" gold
Die cutting machine (Cricut) to cut letters
Paper trimmer
Ruler
Paintbrush, two 1/4" dowels (for paint handles)
Adhesive tape runnerYou will need:

Here is the finished project! Next, I will tell you how I did it.
1. For each drawer: Use the ruler to measure the height and width of the front of one bin drawer. Cut the acetate to fit; apply small dots of adhesive to the right side of the acetate, top and bottom. Adhere to the inside of the bin drawer. Cut a contrasting paper to fit the inside of the back of the drawer. I used an acetate with a cursive design on it. This is just to add a little dimension. Repeat for all four drawers. Cut extra pieces of acetate to further decorate the top and sides of the unit if desired.

2. Die cut the letters from the glitter cardstock. My largest letters are 1-1/2" The smallest are 3/4". Make sure all of the cut letters fit on the bin drawer before you glue them down. You will adhere them directly to the acrylic bin drawer as shown. Use the Mod Podge dimensional magic as the adhesive for adhering the letters. Apply small dots of adhesive to the acetate paper to adhere each piece to the acrylic.

3. This is what the wooden knobs look like before you paint them. Make sure you like the way they look on your treat station. Some may prefer to leave it plain.

4. Insert one end of the wooden dowel (or chopstick) into the pre-drilled hole of the ball knob. Paint each knob and let dry thoroughly.

5. Adhere the knobs to the top of the treat unit as shown using a dab of the dimensional magic adhesive for each.
There you have it!  You can attach your bins to each other as shown in the photo above, or keep them separate to place around your event or home.  How you decorate your storage bins is up to you.  The possibilities are endless!
