Home Decor with Deflecto!

Deflecto products are perfect for event signage, storage, and home decor! I consider each product a surface for creating something personal and unique! There are so many possibilities! I used a frame and a two drawer cube to make a fun set perfect for mom or for yourself! I like to keep my nail polishes, hand creams, etc. next to my recliner where I relax and watch TV. The two drawer cube is perfect for keeping small items nearby and at hand when I need them! I also enjoy seeing the happy faces of my lovely daughter and son-in-law!
You will need:

Deflecto: 2-Drawer Cube #35010CR; Frame 8" x 10" #597901CR
Memory Papers: 12 x 12" coordinating papers from 48 sheet pad
Washi Tape: 1" wide white with gold polka dots
Adhesives
Glue Dots
Paper Trimmer
Paper Punch: 1-1/2" round scallop
Scissors

Instructions:

1. 2-Drawer Cube: Cut four 6" x 6" pieces from one sheet of memory paper. Trim papers so that they fit the sides and top of the cube. Use the Washi tape to connect the 6" squares to the cube storage. Leave the bottom plain.

2. Drawers: Cut two 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" rectangles from contrasting papers to decorate the front of each drawer. Place one rectangle on inside edge of the front of one drawer with the design facing out. Apply a small piece of adhesive to (the right side) of each side and the bottom of the paper; then adhere the paper to the inside of the drawer. Repeat for the second drawer.

3. Cut two 5-1/4" x 5-3/4" pieces from a 3rd contrasting paper. Place one piece in the bottom of one drawer; the right side facing up. Repeat for the second drawer.

4. Embellish 1" Paper Roses: Choose a contrasting paper to make two spiral roses. Cut a 4" circle from chosen paper. Cut into a spiral. Roll into a flower and adhere the top of the flower to the base. It is an option to purchase paper flowers from the craft store. I punched out a 1-1/2" scalloped circle from green cardstock and glued one to the bottom of one rose. Repeat for the second rose. Adhere one rose to each drawer as shown. I used glue dots for this step in case I want to change the flowers.

5. 8" x 10" Frame: Choose 3 contrasting papers from the paper pad. Cut one 8" x 10", one 6-1/2" x 8-1/2", one 6" x 8". Center and layer the papers from large to small. Center a 5" x 7" photo and adhere to the top layer. Place the papers between the panels of the frame.

6. Finish: Apply Washi tape to the top and bottom corners of the frame as shown. Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by the blog. I hope you got some inspiration here today!
Take time to enjoy the small blessings along the way and,
Live Life with a Flourish!

Memories

Hi, crafters! Team member Monica here sharing how I decorated the Purple Border Craft Frame 4" x 6" that I decorated for my sister-in-law. My niece is not a small baby like this anymore and she is missing those days already. So I thought I would brighten her day by making her this frame so she won't ever forget her precious... although she is not so precious anymore little girl!

I used some Scrapiniec embellishments to decorate the frame front and added a sentiment to it that obviously was perfect!

I hope everyone enjoyed my post and thanks for stopping by.

Golf Themed Birthday Party

Throw a Golf Themed Birthday Party for the golfer in your life with Deflecto!
We recently celebrated a milestone birthday for my husband, who is quite the avid golfer. He’s been playing golf since he was a kid and even caddied as a teen. It only seemed fitting that we celebrate with a Golf Themed Birthday Party.

I kept the menu simple with his favorite foods; fried chicken, pasta, sandwiches, chips and salad.
For fun… I used golf lingo to create little signs to label some of the food.
I used “free golf clipart” that I found online and customized each sign using a free photo editing site.

To clip the signs onto the serving dishes I used...

Of course… there was the Water Hole and a Arnold Palmer Station.

Make a signature Arnold Palmer drink of lemonade and iced tea.
I used a 4" x 6" clear acrylic craft frame for my "Arnold Palmer Station" sign.

I used a mini 3" x 4" sign holder for my "grab your club" sign.

I easily hung this large 5' golf banner on the wall using the sign & banner hangers.

I had so much fun planning this special “Par-Tee” for my husband. It was easy thanks to a little help from Deflecto Craft Solutions.

Great Solutions for Small Rooms

Hello, dear crafty friends! Martha Lucia here to share with you my organization experience. My atelier or craft room is very small, and as usual, I have a lot of things that "I need to have" or use to create my paper crafts, but because I have problems remembering where I put things, I love to have them visible to don't forget them or duplicate. After experimenting with many things and looking around a lot, I found on Deflecto Craft Great Solutions for my Small Room!

I have a lot of small bottles with glimmers, inks, paints and embossing powders without counting my growing marker collection and Deflecto Craft has different designs of cubes that can be stacked according to our needs. These stackable cubes come totally clear or with black sides and clear fronts. Personally, I love them totally clear. They have different interior designs, for now, I am using cubes of 2 drawers, 4 drawers, and X-cubes. And today, I am also showing you the Interlocking Marker Organizer that will be available to buy very soon!

The 2 drawers cube is the perfect place to organize the embossing powders, glitters, and sparkles and see exactly the colors that I have. Can you believe that in each drawer I can store 16 bottles of embossing powder or 32 bottles of embossing powder in a cube with 2 drawers!!! I am totally fascinated by the 4 drawers cube. I store 16 bottles of Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist in this cube, and you know that these bottles aren't small, but they fix perfectly in these drawers.

And what I can tell you about the X-cube, it is the perfect place to have all my markers classified by type or colors, and if I want, I can carry the cube to my desk or painting place. I am actually using 6 cubes in my Atelier. They are interlocked and fit perfectly on one shelf of my wall storage.

With Deflecto Crafts not only do I have the organization of my Atelier, but I also have the inspiration to work and enjoy my tools!

See you soon!

Super Treat Holder for a Special Mom

We all know at least one special Mom who deserves a Super Treat. The Deflecto® 2 Drawer Stackable Cube Organizer makes a perfect base to create a Super Treat Holder for that special someone.

Hi everyone, It's Anita from The Flamingo Chronicals today to share a fun project with you. I am all about pink, flowers, and frilly - and this project meets all of those requirements.

I started by grabbing one of the hundreds of 6 x 6 paper pads I have in my studio. Don't judge, you know you have a bunch too. They are the perfect size for decorating this line of fun storage cubes. Just a slight trim and the paper fits perfectly!

I used an Eileen Hull die from Sizziz for the label on top of the cube, layering two of them with foam tape in between for some added dimension. I inked the edges of all the papers before adhereing to the cube.

I used a variety of flowers to trim the label on top. These are all from I Love Roses - they have great products if you have never used them before! I adhered everything down using a low temp hot glue gun - super quick and easy.

For the front of the drawers themselves I added more patterned paper from the same 6x6 pad and more paper roses to finish the project off. I filled it with some tasty chocolates and it is ready to go!

How to Decorate a Frame for a Mother's Day Gift

Hello, everyone!!! I'm here today to show you a how to decorate a frame for a Mother's Day gift.

Do you buy or create gifts to give to your Mom on Mother's Day? I love creating gifts for my mother. She gets so tickled pink when she gets something that was created just for her.

This year is no different. My mother loves getting photos of all of her children in one picture. That rarely happens so when I went through my photos on my camera, I found one that she doesn't have and would totally love.

Let's take a look:

Deflecto's 8 x 10 Clear Frame is perfect for this gift!

I went through my scrapbook stash to find the perfect embellishments to personalized the frame.
Once I found the perfect embellishments, I went straight to work.

Here's how I created it:

1. Before entering the photo into the frame, I placed it down on my table mat that has lines.
2. Using the lines, I lined up the letters for the sentiment on the top and bottom of the frame.
3. Once all of the stickers are neatly placed on the frame, I added the photo to the frame.

My mother is going to love this picture frame. This photo was taken four years ago when my younger brother was graduating from high school. Next weekend he is graduating from college, so we get to take another group photo. Depending on how it looks, I might swoop this photo for that one, LOL!

So what do you think? Will you decorate your picture frames with stickers in this manner? I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired here today.

Acrylic Deflecto Frame on my Way

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to show you a project that I made using a 4"x6" Purple Deflecto Craft Frame. If you know me, you know that I love to work with frames and a few months ago I created a Spring Botanical Acrylic Frame, and I received a lot of private messages and comments asking me about this project.
I made this using die cuts and the wonderful Double Sided paper foil. You can see this project HERE. Today I have a similar concept but using a stencil with embossing paste. Take a look at today's Craft Frame:

Maybe you are asking why I am using the gold clips if this is a frame? Well. I could put the quote inside of the frame, but also I can use this frame for other things. For example to hold my jewelry, don't you think?

It all depends on what I want to do at the moment or the decorations that I have available. I really want to show you how versatile these kinds of frames are and how you can change your mind in a few seconds by only using a few elements. In this case, I only added the two clips and the gold rub on. These frames aren't only for photos, they are for many things, and you can create your own versions - this is just what I made.
But let me show in a few steps how I made the feathers:

I just masked the border with a painters tape and secured the stencil. Then I applied the Gold embossing paste with a palette and removed easily. Finally, I removed the border tape and let the paste dry. Easy and fun and the best part is that I can create the design that I want and I can use this idea with all the Deflecto frames.

I hope my project inspired you and that you choose to experiment not only with your pastes and stencils but with your frames too. They are unique, and you can personalize and make them totally your own.

 See you soon!

Floral Desk Set

May is here and that means Mother's Day is around the corner! I know how much my own mom loves flowers, so I combined her love her flowers and my love for her in one sweet set.

I started with Deflecto's purple border slanted 4x6 sign holder. The gorgeous purple color just lends itself to decorating with flowers! I attached a quote about family to a piece of floral patterned paper from the and placed inside the frame.

For the outside of the frame, I took 2 colored doilies and folded them into quarters. I attached those to two corners of the frame.

I then took paper flowers and added a little color and shimmer to them with some spray ink and shimmer spray, both from the same collection as the paper and doilies! Once those flowers were dry, I attached them on top of the folded doilies using adhesive dots and finished them off with shiny buttons.

For the other half of my project, I used the Deflecto Stackable Cube Organizer. Using the same patterned papers that I used for the frame, I placed 4 pieces of paper inside the cube and attached them to the sides using adhesive dots. I then placed doilies on the outside of each side of the cube, and finished them off with a paper flower and button to match the frame.

Mom will love this set -- it can be used to brighten up her desk at work, hold her makeup brushes in the bathroom, or hold cooking utensils in the kitchen! She will think of you every time she sees it!

May is for Mom!

May is the month to celebrate moms!

Deflecto frames and signs are the perfect surface to decorate! A photograph is an obvious use for a frame; but I used this frame for a heartfelt message to mom! Scroll down and I will tell you how I made it!
You will need:

Deflecto: Purple Border Frame, 4" x 6" #69573CR
Washi Tape: black with white polka dots, 5/8" wide
Paper Flowers: 3 purple; 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/2"
Leaves: two 1-1/2" green
Pearls: (cut from pearlstring) three 1/8"
Cardstock: White, one sheet
PicMonkey or other online digital design site
Scissors
Glue Dots : 1/2" Pop-Up Dots

Instructions:

1. Design a mother's day message that will fit the 4" x 6" window of the frame. I used PicMonkey. They have templates you can use. I used white paper and designed digital message with a black background and white print. Print out on 8-1/2 x 11" cardstock and cut to fit the frame. Insert between the panels.

2. I made my paper flowers and added a faux pearl to the center of each one. If you don't want to make your own; mulberry flowers are easy to find in your local craft store and they are beautiful too.

3. I applied washi tape to the top and bottom of the frame. This is such an easy way to decorate the frames and sooo fun!

4. Adhere the flowers to the lower edge of the frame as shown.

You might wonder about the gift bag sitting next to the frame! I applied white dots to a black bag using a round sponge and acrylic paint. I made a crepe paper fan and glued it to a 2-1/2" circle. The closure is a wooden clothespin with a matching paper flower glued to it. Isn't it pretty? My inspiration for the frame was my gift bag!

Thanks for checking out the blog today. Hope you got some inspiration and have a wonderful month of May!

Cheers!
Marilyn

Mother's Day Event Signs

Hello, crafty friends! Nadine here today sharing Deflecto's 8" x 10" Clear Frame that I decorated with Rinea foiled paper and added some dew drops to the corners that I have had in my stash for years.

I cut ¼" strips from the Rinea Silver and Fuchsia Star Struck Foiled Paper and adhered them to the frame alternating them to get a weave like pattern.

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!

How to Use Deflecto's Rotating Carousel Organizer to Store Jewelry

Hello everyone!! Kymona from Kreative Kymona, here to show you how to use Deflecto's Rotating Carousel Organizer to store Jewelry!

I started creating jewelry and found myself with a dilemma when it came to storing my supplies.  So when I saw the Rotating Carousel Organizer a light bulb went off!

Check out Deflecto's Rotating Carousel Organizer:

Deflecto's Rotating Carousel Organizer comes in two different sizes.  The one that I'm using is the 6 bin but they also have a 9 bin carousel as well.

I love that all of Deflecto's organizers are clear and match.

1. You can see all of the supplies your working with at one glance.

2. The bins have snap-tight lids and are stored on a rotating base.

3. The bins are removable but when they are on the carousel, they have their very own docking stations.  So that when you spin it, the do not fall off.

4. The bins are full size canisters that can hold pretty tall items.

I love storing all of my jewelry making supplies in this organizer.  I can quickly spin and grab what I'm looking for to create different types of jewelry.  I have everything I need for this craft all in one place.

So what do you think?  Will you store your crafting supplies in this manner?  I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired here today.
