Back To School Organization: Creating A Dry Erase, Magnetic Board For The Family

Hi Everyone!
My name is Alexandra, I blog in a little corner of the crafty web called Hedgehog Hollow, I am so excited to be here as part of the new Deflecto design team. This month the theme was children. My oldest daughter is so disorganized and I knew as soon as I saw the Deflecto Craft Frame with Black Border, I had the perfect idea. Something for her to write notes on, for us to write reminders or fun phrases on and for her to hold up sentimental or important notes was important too, this is what I came up with...

I inserted some magnet paper in the back so she could pin up items, in the picture above I added the card I made her for getting her pen license at school plus her favorite picture of her baby sister. I personalized it with glitter vinyl saying 'Maddi's Notes' that I cut on my Silhouette Machine; I also added some silver glitter vinyl on top of the magnet paper to add some extra sparkle! The acrylic surface of the Deflecto Frame also makes the perfect dry erase board, I added an inspirational comment above and some more reminders in this picture...

I also placed all her stationery in the Deflecto Stackable Cube with X Dividers. I have one of these too with some of my craft supplies in, they are so useful! This could be personalized for any age or for the whole family with important information or reminders, you could adapt the colors and level of sparkle for the recipient, I would like one of these for my desk to add my to do list on or pin up meetings I need to attend.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you will join me and my fellow designers very soon for some more Deflecto organization ideas.

Happy Creating!
Alexandra

Organize Your Kids Bathroom

Hello, everyone! Nadine her today and one thing my house is really lacking in drawers in the bathroom cabinets. So things like toothbrushes, tooth paste, hair brushes and things are always all over my daughter's bathroom counter.  So I decorated a Deflecto X-Divider Stackable Organizer to match the theme she already has in her bathroom by using a stencil with little fish, but you could use any stencil you like. It works perfectly for her to quickly place her items in after use so they are no longer cluttering up the counter.

Below is a tutorial video showing exactly how decorated it.
Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to get updates when I post a new video.

Love the fishes, they are so cute!

Thank you for visiting and happy crafting!

Young Kids Bedtime Routine Checklist with Decorative Frame

Hello, Jessica Litman here today! Anyone have young kiddos? And do you totally struggle with bedtime?? My kiddos are 3.5 and 5 years old, so bedtime can be a challenge. Mostly because my kiddos need constant reminders to complete their bedtime routines, which is why I created an easy bedtime routine checklist!

As a former teacher, I have learned that using pictures and words for young children allows them to complete tasks with minimal supervision from you, which is why this printable has both words and pictures. (More on how I organize young kiddos here!)

Then I put the printable in the Deflecto Craft Frame with some felt balls. Now we can use a dry erase marker to check off all the steps before we read books for bed!

Materials
Wool Felt Balls
Hot Glue Gun
Free Printable: Bedtime Checklist
White Board Markers

Tutorial

1. Lay out felt balls on craft frame in an arrangement you like.
2. Hot glue the wool balls onto the frame.

3. Let dry.

4. Print off Bedtime Checklist free printable.
5. Insert printable into the frame.
6. Teach kiddos how to use checklist by writing on the frame after each task is complete.
7. Wipe off marker using cloth or Kleenex!

This bedtime routine has helped make bedtime a little smoother when it comes to getting PJ's on, brushing teeth, and going to the bathroom!

Fabulous Fall Frame

When the days and nights start to get a little cooler... I start looking for simple ways to bring Fall into my home. One simple way is by adding beautiful graphics found on scrapbook paper and adding it to a frame.

I made my “Grateful for Fall” frame using the Deflecto 5″ x 7″ Beveled Edge Acrylic Frame and beautiful fall paper from Authentique Paper "Bountiful Collection."

After cutting and matting the fall graphics, I added resin acorns to the metal knobs.

Simple Fall Decorating. (and a simple reminder to be always Grateful)

Interlocking Storage for Snacks

Hello, everyone! Martha Lucia here to share my Snack Time with all you Deflecto fans. I am using the Interlocking Stacking Tower Organizer to keep and "control" the snacks in my office. You know that I love candy and snacks, but with these containers is easy to control the portions and "decide" what I want. Take a look at my tower:

Sometimes I want something sweet or something salty, and other times I can't decide. I decorated each container using vinyl silver or white with a lattice design that I cut using my big shot and a die cut. Then I cut a label in red vinyl with a die cut too and finally, I created a name for each container using a label machine.

The advantage of these containers is that the lids and bases are removable so you can have one single container, or two, or three! You can refill them whenever you want because you can see through it. They are also ideal for the on-the-go option!

What do you think? Another way to keep our snacks without spilling on our desk!!!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired here today!

How to create a starry night light using the Deflecto Craft Frame

Hi everyone, my name is Josefine, and I'm guest designing for Deflecto Crafts in the months of September and October. You have no idea how excited I am ;) For my first project, I created a starry night light which looks great on a kids' night stand or as decoration anywhere.

The Deflecto Craft Frame with the black border is the perfect surface to create a stained glass effect! Before I could add the paint, I had to draw the stars. Thankfully, I had a stencil that was full of stars in different sizes. This really made things easy. The paint I was using needs a border in order to not move everywhere, so I used a dimensional paste to outline the stars. This paste had to dry for about 24 hours.

Now I was able to pour the paint directly onto the Craft Frame, yellow and orange for the stars and blue for the background. I also added some effects using glitter and other, more opaque paint. It is so much fun to watch the paint move and mix with each other. It's a little unpredictable, which I really like.

Patience is the key! This paint has to dry for about 48 hours. But the result was so stunning that it was worth waiting. As soon as everything was dry (the frame had to lay perfectly flat during the drying time), I created the light box for the back side. In order for the lights to be at the right place behind the stars and not randomly anywhere, I used the same stencil to estimate where the single LED bulbs have to be. The light box is just a medium sized USPS flat rate box, cut in half and covered in black card stock. I poked a couple of holes into the back and squeezed the tiny LED bulbs into them.

I needed, even more, patience while waiting till it got dark. I really wanted to see how it turned out. What do you think? Is this a unique night light or what? :D

And here is my "kid" photo bombing my pictures. She doesn't seem too impressed ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the project and feel inspired to create your own stained glass effect using the Deflecto Craft Frame. Josefine

Sue and Nick's Craft Caddy Challenge

The challenge was to see who could fill their craft caddy the fastest.

Each day, at the "Creativation Trade Show" last January, Deflecto held the very popular Craft Caddy Challenge. All though lots of fun, at times, it became quite competitive.
I was talking about the challenge to my grandson the other day and we decided to have our own
Craft Caddy Challenge. (I needed to race someone my own speed.)
Nick enjoyed the caddy challenge so much that when my nieces came over to swim later, he challenged them. He was a lot faster by then. (he won by a mile)

Take a Look at Deflecto's Caddy Wheel Base

Hello everyone!! Kymona from Kreative Kymona here today share a new product that Deflecto release back in January at Creativation. I'm so excited about it.

Take a look at Deflecto's Caddy Wheel Base

Yes, the long awaited wheel base to go with their fabulous Caddy Organizer!!

When I saw the Caddy Wheel Base at Creativation, I couldn't wait to get my hands on one. I could push my supplies across my living room floor without any problems. LOL!!
Let's a closer look:

Here are some facts about the Caddy Wheel Base:

The wheels swivel that lets you move an entire stack of supplies safely and easily.
It moves easily on carpet.
It has a lift and lock tab that secures multiple Caddy Organizers to the Caddy Wheel Base.

You stack as many caddies as you have that you're able to push or pull.
It's perfect for scrapbooking crops or any craft retreat. No table space needed.
The Caddy Organizer is sold separately.

I can't wait to get more caddies so that I can have all of my supplies all in one place.

While at Creativation, I had so much fun pushing a stack of Caddy's around the convention floor.
Check it out:

That's 6 caddies on the wheel base!!

Think about all of the supplies you could have in 6 caddy's with you on a craft trip!!

So what do you think? Where will you use your Caddy Wheel Base loaded with Caddy Organizers? I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired here today.

Deflecto Craft Caddy

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share my new Craft Caddy from Deflecto. I am thrilled because now we can find the Stackable Caddy in another store, Target. And we can build our own version of craft caddy with all the levels that we want. Take a look at mine:

I decided to use the first level to carry my adhesives, little spray's and enamels and the second level to store embellishments. I marked one side of the white frame of the Stackable Caddy with the name of my blog, and to create it I used vinyl of two different colors and my Cricut Explore. For the other side, I created a striped design using vinyl and some die cuts on my big shot.

On the white frame, I tried to align all the colors and designs because as you may have noticed I love to sync everything. But the best part of my decoration is when I want to go to shows or crops because I can easily identify my Craft Caddy. It is very easy, I just need to put all and secure the caddies on the Stack'N Go Caddy Wheel Base, and all without taking advantage of these removable storage containers.

What do you think? This is a wonderful storage cart for our crafts, you can move it around your house and carry individual compartments whenever you want!

You can purchase the Stackable Caddy HERE at Target.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired here today. I would love to hear from you!

Bathroom Organization

Hello, Nadine here today! One thing my bathroom is completely lacking is storage space. I have no drawers to keep my smaller items in like my makeup. The Deflecto's Craft Tilt Bin was the perfect solution for me. Since it hangs up on the wall, it frees up my counter, and it also gives me a shelf to put more items on.
My plan is to get more to add above this one, they interlock (slide) together so you can easily add more of them.

The Deflecto Interlocking Craft Tilt Bins come in different bin sizes. The one I use is the 5 bin, but you can also get them in 4 bin6 bin and also single bins. I currently am using all the sizes in my craft room and love them all.

Each bin tilts out for easy access, and they can also be removed so you can bring them to where you need them. I blinged mine up with some rhinestone trim and used alpha stickers on the labels that come with the unit.
