Class of 2016 Frame!

Graduations season is upon us. Whether your graduate is moving up from High School, College or even Kindergarten, they must be celebrated. After all the effort and support from mom and dad, the hours of homework, ALL those school supplies these grads deserve to be honored in style. I have used the same techniques from my last project, Marquis Frame, featuring led stickers to bring lights and bling in these great graduation stickers by Jolene all set on the perfect Deflecto frame awaiting your grads photo.

This is what I used:

Deflecto Clear 8" x 10" Frame - 597901CR
Chibitronics lights
Jolene's Class of 2016 stickers
ThermoWeb 3D White Foam Squares • 1/2 in

Wedding Candy Bin

What is a wedding without sweets, right? I have a great idea for using a deflecto craft storage bin to serve up treats for the wedding guests.

The "star" of this project will be the five bin unit by Deflecto. I used 3" black collegiate letters. They have an adhesive on the back side that is meant to be temporary; as the real adhesive is heat activated. In this case; I removed the release paper from each letter and applied one to each bin to spell "CANDY". You should be able to remove them after the wedding and use the bins for craft storage.

You will need:

Deflecto: Craft Tilt Bin 5 Bin Unit

Joy: 3" black embroidered letters to spell CANDY

Black spray paint for use on acrylic plastic (or color of your choice)

Trim: single strand faux rhinestone self-adhesive

Scissors

painters tape

clear packing tape or newspaper

Instructions:

Remove the bins from the unit. Line them up on a flat surface. Remove the release paper from one letter, center and apply to the bin. Leave it loose until all of the letters are lined up evenly. Repeat for each letter.

Close-up View below

Tape off all areas you do not want to apply paint to. You may choose to leave the bin unit white. That is perfectly OK!
Cover up any small holes with painters tape on the inside edges of the unit.
I applied clear packing tape across the front to protect the inside of the unit. Then, applied painters tape around the front edges.
In a well-ventilated area; follow the manufacturer's instructions and paint the entire unit except on the inside. Allow to dry thoroughly. Remove the tape and reinsert the bins.

Each bin will have a slot and paper to identify what is inside. Embellish the edges with the faux rhinestone trim.

If you would like to know how I made the mini faux cakes on top of the candy bin; check out the blog post link here: http://marilyngossettdesigns.blogspot.com/2016/04/mini-wedding-dessert-with-smoothfoam.html

Thank you for checking out the blog today. Hope you got some inspiration for your next celebration. I am going to do "BABY" with a four bin unit next!

Punch Storage Using Stackable Cube

Happy May! Today I want to share some new organization I have for my studio using the Deflecto Stackable Cube Organizer. I have several of these, and they are SUPER handy y'all. They stack up if you want them to, plus they sit side by side too. PLUS- they clip together.

I started by covering all four sides with paper. I added some detail to the front side, distressing some coordinating papers and inking. I punched the pennants and added letter stickers.

TIP: - Start adding your pennants in the middle of the page- then move out on each side from there to ensure even spacing.

I used 3D Foam Squares to add some dimension under my pennant stickers.

Stamping around the edges adds some detail, plus I added some embellishments from my stash: ribbon, flower, button, and that CLOCK! Oh. My. Goodness. How many of you have been scrapbooking for, say, 10 years or more?? Do you remember when Heidi Swapp had a collection of fun chipboard stickers, that came in the cutest little box, and it was for sale on HSN (or maybe QVC)???
Yeah, that clock is from that collection.
Don't judge.
You know you hoard stuff too.

Anyway, I have a pretty good handful of WRMK punches corner rounders, etc. and they were getting a little heavy for the drawer I was keeping them in, so this is a perfect solution! I can keep them on my table within easy reach, and it's pretty too!

Be sure to check out Deflecto on all our Social Media channels.
Thanks so much or stopping by today!

Graduation Photo Frame

It's graduation time again! This is one of the most exciting times in a person's life and is always a great opportunity for some memorable photos. Make sure that you display those memories -- it's easy with a Deflecto acrylic frame and a few simple embellishments!

I started with Deflecto Crafts 4x6 purple border craft frame. I love the transparent quality of the acrylic frames, so I wanted to play off of that and use translucent embellishments that wouldn't overwhelm the frame. I chose some silver rub-ons to go around the frame opening. Rub-ons are fantastic to use on these frames; they are easy to apply to the acrylic, and they adhere beautifully. Plus they are crazy easy to use - just rub and go!

Next, I chose a large fancy "frame" rub-on to apply to the bottom left corner. In keeping with the translucent feel, I used a piece of vellum printed with the word "dream". I fussy-cut the word and adhered it straight onto the rub-on using vellum adhesive (this is a staple in my craft room because vellum adhesive won't show through). I finished by adding a beautiful glittered flower from Prima.

This frame would also be a great display piece for a graduation party - so inexpensive and so easy to do!

Marquis Frame: Deflecto and Chibitronics

Hi all, Jennifer Davey from Be Still My Crafting Heart.

Electronic meets craft in this fun joining of forces of Chibitronics and Deflecto. The only knowledge needed is how to build a simple circuit. Fear NOT all of the instructions are included in the Circuit Stickers Sketchbook, which is included in the STEM Starter Kit.

Materials:
Deflecto Craft Frame, 5"x7" – Black, Item Number: 69575CR
Chibitronic STEM Starter Kit
ThermoWeb Foam Squares - 1/2" Black Squares
Black cardstock

Tools:
Scissors
Paper trimmer
hole punch, 1/8”

Directions:

1. Create a simple circuit using copper tape provided in STEM Starter Kit, centering the circuit on the black part of the frame. I rigged my battery pack around the back so I can turn it on and off.

2. Space the chibi lights evenly around the frame making sure to keep ALL your positives on one side and negatives on the other than test the lights.

3 Create a black top for the frame by cutting a 5”x 7” hole in the center of a 7” x 9” piece of card stock. Center paper frame over and press against lights (this will emboss the paper a bit to help find light placement). Punch holes where the lights embossed the location.

4 Punch holes in the center of 14 ThermoWeb Foam Squares. Place these on black cardstock back centered on punched holes. Add a few more foam squares between light placements Peel away paper backing and place over lights.

Place a picture and enjoy! Wouldn’t this be fun for a movie party?

Craft Room Redo with Deflecto

Hello, friends! Larissa here with you today and I am finally ready to show you my room redo. I didn't think I would ever finish and honestly, I don't think I am yet. Everything from my room is being stored in my living room since we use our den more. And I have been going through things trying to weed out. I am finding stuff I forgot to save room for. We are currently working on my supply room so hopefully I will find more room in there. Fingers crossed anyway.
Here is my video showing you my room. As I say in the video 98% of my room storage is Deflecto. I will have a list at the bottom of my post.

Thank you for watching and have a great day.

Inspire Art Junk Journal w/Sign Tag Inserts and Video Tutorials

I wanted to re-create a little junk journal that I made with a friend a couple of months back, so I dug into my stash of supplies and made this fun little book.  A little bit of everything went into this little book from all the companies I work with, for that is what a junk journal is all about, pulling things together from what you have!!!

I used the Deflecto Sign Tags as inserts in the book.  I first embossed them then used Glimmer glaze to decorate and paint them.
Below is a video on how I altered the sign tags in the book

Here is the video for part 3  - Embellishments and the Walk Through of the entire book.

Here are a few up close pictures of the journal inside with the altered sign tags.
