Back to School Teacher Gift

Back to School Teacher Gift filled with school supplies is a perfect and thoughtful present.

This year school might look a bit different with in-person and virtual learning options.  Everyone is adjusting as the new school year begins.  It is good to remember to be kind.  The teachers are struggling just as much as the students are, so let’s show them some love!

Using the Deflecto® Large 3-Drawer Organizer, fill each drawer with school and art supplies that would be perfect for any teacher to share with their students.

Complete the Teacher Gift with FREE Printable Tags by Design Team Member, Beth Watson.

Wrap your gift up with a bow. Tie a black and white gingham ribbon around both sides of the organizer and tie in the center with a bow, and then add the tags with adhesive.

The Deflecto® Large Three-Drawer Organizer is the perfect addition to any classroom.

This Deflecto® Large Three-Drawer Organizer is 13″ by 13″ by 6.5″ for organizing school supplies, scrapbook papers with embellishments, sewing supplies, knitting supplies, and more. The transparent cube allows full visibility to quickly access what you need. Divided drawers keep everything neat and tidy. Compact, stackable design leaves plenty of room on your work table or desk.

Beth say...I can think of so many ways to fill and gift this Three-Drawer Organizer. Pack with k-cups, flavored creamer and sugar to create a coffee station for a friend with a new home. Load with treats, chocolates and candies to create a candy bar at a bridal shower or birthday party. Fill with greeting cards, tissue papers and bows to create a wrapping station for all occasions. The possibilities are endless!

Fall Scarecrow Craft for Kids

Craft Stick Scarecrows are a fun and easy kids craft project for Fall.

Featured Storage:  Deflecto Caddy Storage Tray

Materials Used:

  • Craft Sticks
  • Glue
  • Felt (or construction paper)
  • Scissors
  • Small Flowers
  • Googly Eyes
  • Black Marker
  • Start with all the supplies organized into the Deflecto Caddy Storage Tray.  When the kids can see the supplies they will use, it helps make crafting happier and easier.
  • Pull out seven craft sticks (also known as popsicle sticks) and cut one in half - a parent will need to this part. Set up six sticks in a row, stagger them for a little extra interest, and using kids white school glue use the two half sticks to hold the set of 6 together by gluing them perpendicularly.

Cut felt (or construction paper) into 3 sections in any fall colors you want.
The section are the following measurements:
  • Square hat top 3 x 3 inches
  • Bottom hat section 1 x 4 inches
  • Hat band 3 x 0.5 inches
  • To finish the scarecrow glue on the googly eyes, triangle nose and draw in the mouth.
The Craft Stick Scarecrows were created by Design Team Member Erin Reed.

Fall Football and Fun

Easy DIY Football Themed Party Ideas

Fall is right around the corner, and with that comes Football Season.

Whether you’re watching the NFL or High School Football, a few simple snacks

are always welcomed by the fans.

To keep the decorating easy, use a few sheets of Football themed scrapbook paper.

I used one of the 3″ x 4″ sections and attached it to the front of a small stackable caddy container (from the Deflecto Stackable Caddy Organizer) with repositionable tape to make a silverware holder.

The Deflecto 3-Tier Dessert Stand is the perfect tailgating companion.

It is easy to put together and folds flat for compact storing and transporting.  Use football-themed washi tape or strips of cut paper and adhere it around the edges of the tiers for added fun.  (Make sure to use repositionable adhesive. )

Create a banner using colored cardstock and letter stickers in your favorite team colors.

Having everything in cups makes for easy grab and go snacking.

Now we’re ready for some Football!

Beth says..."Organizing is a Breeze with the Deflecto Rotating Carousel Organizer.  It fits perfectly on the top shelf of my baking cabinet with plenty of room for additional supplies. The fun secret about the Deflecto Rotating Carousel Organizer is that the base is a Lazy Susan! So, I can spin it around and have access to everything on the top shelf."

Foam Board Ice Cream Front Door Hanger

Lynn Lilly shows you how to make a DIY Ice Cream Front Door Hanger!

I love switching up my front door decor on the regular and I have been experimenting with creating front door hangers with foam board. A lot of die-cut front door hangers are made from wood but they can be pricey. So I thought why not give foam board a try and it has worked great and withstands weather! Whether you are an everyday crafter or someone who makes occasionally, it definitely helps to have your supplies organized. My go-to organizer for projects and long term storage is my DeflectoStackable Storage Caddy. It is great for general storage or if you are making a lot of the same type of project that uses the same materials like I have been with front door hangers it works great to dedicate a caddy with all the supplies.

Featured Storage Container: Deflecto Stackable Storage Caddy

Materials:

     18" x 24" Foam Board

     Pencil

     Ruler

     Box Cutter or Craft Knife

     Acrylic Paint and Brush

     Dimensional Puffy Paint

     Decoupage

Hot Glue Gun & Glue or Industrial Glue

     Rope/Twine

Project Directions:

1. Draw the shape of a cone, ice cream scoop, and a cherry on the foam board.

2. Use the box cutter to cut out each piece.

3. Paint the cone brown acrylic paint and let it dry.

4. Once the cone is dry paint criss-cross cone lines in gold acrylic paint. Add texture with squiggly lines over the brown. Mix white into the original brown to create a light brown. Let the cone completely dry.

5. Paint the ice cream scoop pink. Let it dry. Next mix the pink with white to get a lighter pink and paint polka dots all over the ice cream scoop. Next, use the dimensional puffy paint to add sprinkles. Let it completely dry.

6. Paint the cherry red and the stem black. Let it dry. Once it is dry add some reflection lines to the cherry with white.

7. Glue the ice cream scoop to the cone and the cherry to the scoop.

8. Paint the entire piece with decoupage to weatherproof.

9. Glue a string to the back to hang it on the door.

TA-DA!!! You have your very own fun, front door hanger. You can take this same technique and make so many other shapes. I have already made a watermelon slice and a popsicle. The popsicle has been hanging on my door for weeks and withstood so many storms!

The best part about this project is that clean-up was so easy as I just popped all my supplies back in my Storage Caddy!
